A field of 323 runners, joggers and walkers took part in the 214th staging of the Kesgrave parkrun, held over the usual fast, flat 5K course on Saturday morning.
Nicholas Clarke, of Ipswich JAFFA, led everyone home in a time of 17mins 39secs, which was an excellent personal best at what was his 110th parkrun.
James Gibson was a runner-up in 18:16, while Tilly Aldis was first female by finishing 12th overall.
Competing in the 11-14 year-old age group, the talented Aldis clocked 20:00, although she was much slower than her PB for the course of 19:11, set a year ago. She regularly runs for Suffolk. Jayne Chappels, representing Kesgrave Kruisers, was second in 20:37 and Rosie Denny third with 21:41.
There were many parkrun first timers in action on Saturday, including Ashley Knights, James Allen, Jamie Debnam, Florence Alder, Richard Vickerstaff, Susan Turner, Noah Jordan, Chris Clow, Joanne Bennett, Claire Day and Tony Edwards.
