Ten-year-old Emma Bartley is celebrating after winning the England Squash and Racketball Under-11 girls’ title.
The Hardwick Middle School pupil won the event, held in Sheffield, at the fourth time of trying, and is ranked number one in the country for her age.
Emma, who also plays at under-13 level, won four matches on her way to the title, defeating number one seed Layla Johnson in the semi-finals and Asia Harris in the final.
The youngster, who is coached at Off The Wall Squash Academy in Colchester by former professional player Lauren Selby, dropped just one set at the tournament and is currently the fifth-best under-13 player in England.
Her brother Matthew, aged eight, is also a keen squash player.
