St Ives 1 Ipswich 2

ON Sunday Ipswich travelled to St Ives to play in a re-arranged league match. Ipswich began the match similar with some high energy attacking scoring an early goal from an attack down the left slipped to Mille McWhirter who struck the ball firmly against the backboard.

Their second followed shortly after from captain Anni Broster from a ball crossed from the right.

Ipswich had a second half almost identical to Saturday's performance against Peterborough, making hard work for themselves and looking a little less composed than in the first half. However despite some aggressive play from St Ives and conceding a goal from a penalty corner, Ipswich worked hard to maintain the score line and secure another 2-1 win.

MOTM went unanimously to goalkeeper Annie Shayes (apart from her own vote!) for keeping Ipswich in the game with some awesome saves and well placed clearances.

Ipswich came away from another double header weekend pleased with their team work performance and with having secured six points. Ipswich remain in third place in East Division One North with 38 points and will travel to Braintree next Saturday to play in their final league match of the season. Ipswich will then be preparing for the National Second Team Cup Final against Bowden Hightown on May 10 in Manchester.
