St Ives 2 Colchester 2

Colchester travelled to St Ives and it was the home side who took the lead midway in the first half.

St Ives were controlling the game in the first half and Colchester were unable to maintain possession or gain any advantage.

However, Colchester started the second half better and began to pressurise the home defence but they went another goal down against the run of play after a fine individual effort by a St Ives forward.

This galvanised Colchester and from now on it was the home side doing all the defending.

Several penalty corners were awarded and it was from two of these that Colchester drew level, firstly from an unstoppable strike by Anna Foley and the second from another fierce shot by Louise Bibby.

Colchester pushed on trying to get the three points but were kept out by the St Ives keeper and they were also saved by their own keeper Helen Barnes when she made a brave save in the dying minutes.
