STOKE City are ready to offer Everton striker James Vaughan a chance to revive his career with a loan deal after a spate of injuries. The 21-year-old has scored seven goals in 37 Everton appearances and his first one - aged just 16 years and 271 days against Crystal Palace in 2005 - made him the youngest-ever Premier League scorer, beating both James Milner and Wayne Rooney.

In that same game, Vaughan also became the youngest Everton first-teamer, beating Joe Royle's previous record by 11 days.

Vaughan has also played for England at Under-17, 19 and 21 levels, scoring five goals for his country.

Meanwhile, Everton and Wigan are among a number of clubs showing interest in Rangers striker John Fleck, whose team-mate Alan Gow is on his way to Plymouth.

And Everton defender Joleon Lescott has told the club he wants to leave but is yet to hand in an official transfer request.
