The Suffolk side - who were infuriated to have been left in the British Gas Business League Midlands Division One for next season - enjoyed many a fierce battle with Braintree when the two clubs were in the Ryman League.
Sudbury have lost at Haverhill Rovers and Witham Town and drawn with a Cambridge United XI so far this pre-season, while Blue Square South side Braintree have played Burnham Ramblers, Canvey Island and Billericay Town.
Danny Bloomfield, Craig Hughes, Gareth Heath and Danny brown will be all missing for the hosts, but there will be home debuts for Stuart Ainsley, Lewis Bailee and Paul Jones, with the later spearheading the attack with Perry Sansford.
