Sudbury out of Masters Cup

SUDBURY Men’s Masters (over-40s) lost 4-1 to Old Southendians in the Masters Cup First Round, in Essex, on Sunday.

Davies gave the visitors, who had travelled with the bare minimum 11 players, the lead on the stroke of half-time but the interval was their undoing.

On the restart, Sudbury became very heavy-legged and Old Southendiands equalised early on before adding three further goals.

Tim Blackburn hit the post late on for Sudbuty, who will now go into the draw for the Masters Plate.
