Suffolk mixed martial arts fighter Arnold Allen won in dominant fashion at UFC Fight Night London at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.
Trimley St Martin’s Allen, 22, looked impressive in his second fight inside the UFC octagon. en-route to a unanimous decision victory over veteran grappler Yaotzin Meza. Allen dominated the featherweight fight, looking far faster and crisper than his foe in the striking exchanges and stuffing any attempts by Meza to take the battle to the ground. Indeed, Allen decked Meza with a blitzkrieg of punches at the end of the third round, but the bell sounded to save his stricken opponent from a knock-out defeat. With the win, Allen is now a perfect 2-0 in the UFC, and 11-1 overall. In the night’s much anticipated main event, English veteran Michael Bisping bested Brazilian legend Anderson Silva via unanimous decision after a classic back-and-forth, blood and guts war.
