SUFFOLK'S world champion kickboxer Marlon Hunt will make his eagerly anticipated comeback in March against the world's No.1 ranked fighter Waine 'Homeboy' Turner.

The 28-year-old, nicknamed 'The Game' for his tactical approach to fights, has been out of action since last June after he snapped his achilles tendon in two places and tore his calf muscle competing at the WAKO World Cup in Italy.

The Onehouse resident, who is No.2 in the world under the International Kickboxing Federation (IFK) rankings, has confounded doctors with his rapid recovery.

Now back in full training, world cruiserweight champion Hunt has decided to go right to the top in his first fight back by taking on ISKA world super cruiserweight champion Waine Turner.

Hunt will move up a weight to take on the world No.1 at the prestigious Sheffield Octagon on March 9, the winner claiming the Professional Super Cruiserweight World Kickboxing title.

Hunt said: “This is a fight I have been looking for in a long time. It will be a hard fight, but I am being personally trained by my manager, master Cris Janson-Piers, and coach Richard Stephens.

“I have also brought onboard nutritional and personal fitness instructor Kevin Hobbs to help me get in the best shape of my life for this fight.”

Hunt, who puts his rapid recovery from injury down to positive thinking and healthy eating, has kept himself busy during his rehabilitation by giving school talks, raising money for charity and running his youth kickboxing club the Red Phoenix Academy.
