FA County Youth Cup
Second round
Hunts 0 Suffolk 6
SUFFOLK took the lead in the 10th minute, when Kempston played the ball out of defence to Mayhew, who flicked it into the path of Gray and the striker's angled drive beat keeper Michelin.
For most of the first half, however, it was Hunts who held the balance in midfield and Suffolk keeper Pope made several fine saves to keep his goal intact. Defenders Marsh and Hunter also played with composure, and it was a surprise when Suffolk added a second 5 minutes before the break.
Again it was Gray who latched onto a ball over the defence to shoot into the roof of the net. In the 55th minute, Mayhew scored from close range from a low cross by Kempston.
Then, Gray completed his hat-trick - another ball over the defence put him clear on goal and he made no mistake. By now Hunts spirit had gone as their opponents made it five, when Hunter got on the end of a low free-kick from Grint to steer it over the line from close range.
Mayhew scored number six when set up by Ingram - he turned the last defender and beat the keeper with an angled drive.
