Sun shines on opening day of season

HENRY Hazlewood scored a century for Ipswich and East Suffolk as the first match of the summer was played in Chantry Park on Saturday.

Hazlewood scored 102 in the home team’s total of 209 for nine in a friendly against Hertfordshire side Ware.

However, the visitors won by four wickets with two balls to spare.

Scores: IES 209 for 9 (H Hazlewood 102, Worne 40). Ware 213 for 6 (Sargeant 76, Webster 69no, Driver 8-1-15-2, Namen Tuteja 4-0-32-2). Ware won with 4 wkts.
