Super Iron complete double over Hatters

Braintree Town 2 Luton Town 0

BRAINTREE Town completed a league double over Luton Town with a 2-0 victory over the Hatters at Cressing Road on Tuesday night.

Goals from Sean Marks and captain Kenny Davis gave Alan Devonshire’s side an impressive victory over the high-flying Luton side to cement their mid-table position in the Blue Square Premier table.

Both sides were reduced to 10 men in the first half, with Iron’s Matt Paine and Luton’s Wayne Thomas seeing red for separate offences, but it was Braintree who then struck just before the break, Marks netting from inside the six-yard box after Dan Holman’s cross.

Holman was provider again just after the break, setting up Davis for a headed second and, in front of a crowd of just over 1,000, Iron were home and dry.
