Ipswich Witches produced a poor performance at home to Rye House Rockets. The Suffolk side were out gated and outclassed to leave their fans wondering what on earth they were watching. Witches director of speedway Chris Louis even resorted to taking his side onto the centre green for an interval public dressing down. It seemed to work for one heat at least, but the damage had already been done and the close scoreline flattered the home side. The Witches needed a heat advantage in the final race, but Charlie Gjedde passed Kevin Doolan and that was that.
