COLCHESTER United's new sponsors, haart and Spicer McColl estate agencies, have kicked off their perfect partnership with a football shirt 'amnesty'.

Supporters who take their old Colchester United shirts from any previous season to the club shop will be given a £10 discount off the new shirts, branded with the estate agencies' logos, while their old shirts will be given away to charity. Paul Smith, the chief executive of haart and Spicer McColl, said: “After such a fantastic season, we wanted to show our appreciation of the club and its fans and this is our way of giving something back.”

The old shirts will be sent to the Three Valleys Water KitAid charity, who will distribute the shirts to communities in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

Fans are advised to check first with the Colchester United shop or website to see when the new shirts go on sale and the old shirts can be exchanged. From next season, the U's blue and white stripes will be adorned with the haart logo on the front of the home and back of the away shirts, while the Spicer McColl logo will be on the back of the home shirts and shorts, and back of the away shorts.
