The Storms squads were in action at the weekend, competing in the second round of the Suffolk ASA's Winter League. While the 'A' Team headed to Woodbridge, home of Deben SC to compete in Division One, the 'B' Team were in Lowestoft for their division two gala. Both squads performed extremely well, returning home with an impressive 22 personal best times. Team Manager, Robin Deal said “for a number of the 'B' Team, this was their first team gala for the club, which can be a nerve racking experience for a youngster. However, you would never have known, as they all looked confident on the blocks and swam their hearts out for the team. The B team finished in a credible 5th place overall, but with the final round being hosted at the Club's home pool in a couple of weeks, we are confident we'll improve upon this placing on home territory.”

The A team had a bit more of a battle on their hands at Deben, as they were up against some of the best club's in the county, including Deben A and B teams, Saxon A and Stowmarket A. The team battled to the very end and finished 4th, leaving them in 7th place overall, with the final round of 50m races to be held at Halstead later in the month. Robin said “the A team are within touching distance of Halstead in the league and are fired up ready for a battle in the sprint events. Our senior swimmers are great role models for the younger swimmers; they show a passion for competitive swimming that is infectious and are getting the whole squad hyped up in readiness for the final round of the league.”
