West Suffolk continued its fast development with some shining performances at the Cambridge Open Meet. The team will be in hard training over the next six weeks, aiming for strong performances at county and regional championships.
West Suffolk continued its fast development with some shining performances at the Cambridge Open Meet. The team will be in hard training over the next six weeks, aiming for strong performances at county and regional championships.
A fast improving Danny Proffitt, 15, a recent national qualifier produced some mature swims in the 400 Freestyle (4.18.1) 200 Backstroke (2.17.78) and 400 IM (4.55.7 ) with the 400 IM seeing a 14-second personal best. Danny finished the weekend with an impressive five golds and three silvers.
A young swimmer who is fast becoming an important member of the senior squad is Ashley Trent, 12, who showed some real class on the 400 IM swimming a 5.44.3 and produced a seven-second PB on the 200 Butterfly.
Also swimming at the meet, producing PB's and/or achieving regional and county qualification we had 12 more senior swimmers. A small group of younger swimmers competed for West Suffolk, with each of the swimmers well inside previous best times. The club will now be working hard towards a successful county championships.
