A talented young hockey player from Suffolk has been selected for a programme which will see her attending national training camps and working with expert coaches.
Lorna Bennell, 16, a student at Woodbridge School, has been selected for the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) programme, which is part of the new National Age Group Squad Academy run by England Hockey.
As part of the programme Lorna will attend five national training camps and over 20 regional training sessions.
Adam Lubbock, head of sport at Woodbridge School, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Lorna to really benefit from the expertise of the coaches leading this programme and to gain an insight into what it takes to become an elite athlete.
“She is already a successful hockey player for the school and her club and this will help to take her to the next level.”
