Team Ipswich Water Polo Club has organised a reunion this Saturday at a special presentation evening – and former members are being sought to join the occasion.
The team’s annual presentation event will take place from 7pm at the YMCA Rugby Club in Humber Doucy Lane, Ipswich, where the club’s achievements over the past 12 months will be celebrated. Former members of the club are also being invited to join the celebrations.
Nick Blaxhill, club member, said: “The club has developed a lot over the last few years and won junior cups, and the senior teams are a lot stronger, so we wanted to mark the occasion by helping bring back a few past members. It’s excellent to be able to do it – we even have one in his 90s coming back!”
To help jog memories, the club has put together a host of team pictures from the 1960s-1980s.
The players past and present will be able to reunite and enjoy the celebrations of the last year, which include under 14 and uner 18 Eastern Water Polo League wins, Senior League and U16 runner-up spots, and seven juniors signed up to the Great Britain squad.
