Robbie Priddle came off the bench to notch Thetford’s winner after the visitors had twice been behind against basement team Framlingham Town, writes Iain Smith.

It was cruel on the home side who remain rooted to the bottom of the table and cut further adrift after Hadleigh’s dramatic win at Haverhill Rovers.

The first 20 minutes belonged to the home side, playing some good attacking football, Danny Smith hit the bar from 20 yards out on 14 minutes and Kerridge had a shot blocked.

The same player earned a penalty two minutes later when he was tackled, Willett firing in the loose ball however the referee had awarded a penalty.

Keeper Viner blocked Simon Poacher’s shot but he put the rebound in for the opening goal.

Kerridge then shot narrowly wide before Thetford started to get a foothold in the game.

The lively Sandell was a constant threat and on 24 minutes found his way across the area to shoot beyond Rose for the equaliser.

Both Sandell and Rocha had headers saved by Rose and the home keeper made two more important saves from Gibson and Sandell to keep the scores level at the break.

The visitors pushed the home defence back early in the second half Gibson’s low cross was cleared before the home side took the lead on 51 minutes, Willett’s corner was turned in by Mayhew.

The lead only lasted a minute when Hutt headed a Gibson cross in at the far post.

The visitors were creating the better chances in this end to end game, Rose came off his line to block Rocha’s forward run before Fram had a goal ruled out on 68 minutes, Willett’s corner was handled into the net by a home player.

Both teams made substitutes and on 74 minutes Thetford edged in front, Gibson’s inter passing with Morton from a free kick found Priddle at the far post to head in the cross.

The game continued to be open and both sides were pushing for goals, firstly Kerridge had a goal bound header clawed for a corner on 81 minutes by Viner before Rocha hit the bar from a free kick as Thetford held on for the three points.
