Felixstowe & Walton host a Thetford Town side who have shown improved form of late after coming through a sticky patch.

Usually perennial relegation battlers, Thetford surprised everyone at the start of the season by winning their opening two fixtures and flirting with top spot for a couple of weeks.

They go into tomorrow’s game at The Goldstar Ground’s ninth place in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division table, comfortably clear of relegation worries and looking up rather than down.

Six wins on the road from the 10 games played to date and a plus-10 goal difference is a record that demands attention and they will surely get that from the Seasiders.

The home side will be looking to make it five straight wins since their last league defeat at the end of October.

They know they can’t afford to drop points if they are to stay in the mix at the top of the table.

Although they start the day in fifth place, winning their games in hand would see them sitting in second place behind Mildenhall Town, still 10 points adrift of the leaders, but very much in the mix with the top sides.

Seasiders boss Kevin O’Donnell has boosted his side’s goal threat with two significant signings in the last month with Tom Winter and Nick Ingram gelling well, while Scott Chaplin looks back to his best after an injury lay-off.

O’Donnell will be hoping for a joyful Christmas and New Year period with some tough fixtures looming starting with this one.

Ipswich Wanderers travel to fourth-placed Great Yarmouth, who have games in hand over the two sides immediately above them.

The home side have picked up the majority of their points away from the Wellesley while Wanderers have won half of their games played away from home.

It will be a tough ask for the Humber Doucy Lane side but if they can reproduce the form they showed against third placed Newmarket a fortnight ago, they could surprise their hosts.

The big game of the day in the Premier Division is at the Recreation Ground Mildenhall where the runaway league leaders host the side in hot pursuit, Stanway Rovers.

Having played two games more than the leaders, Rovers know that this is a must-win game for them, as 10 points separate the sides at the start of play.

If Mildenhall can extend their current 14-match winning run it would leave Rovers with a mountain to climb.

Stanway brushed aside Haverhill Rovers on Tuesday at the Hawthorns, with a 6-0 win, and will be looking for the same level of performance from his side.

Walsham-le-Willows host Fakenham Town at Summer Road looking to end a run of four games without a point that has seen them concede 15 goals, eight coming in their last two home games.

Their visitors have also struggled in recent weeks picking up just one point from a possible 12.

Haverhill Rovers host Swaffham Town, a side struggling in the relegation zone without an away win all season and just six goals scored on their travels.

Brantham Athletic travel to an Ely side full of confidence following their FA Vase win at Welwyn last week.

Athletic will have their work cut out to spoil that confidence as Brantham’s record on the road is much better than the Robins’ at The Unwin Ground.

Long Melford go to FC Clacton and will need to be wary of the strugglers who have started to show they may be down but not out just yet.

Melford’s own form has been erratic of late and will themselves be looking to end a run of three straight defeats and this fixture could go either way.

Kirkley & Pakefield travel to Godmanchester Rovers, while Newmarket host Wivenhoe.

Saffron Walden entertain an unbeaten Gorleston side.
