Ipswich Wanderers continued their recent good form with a comfortable 3-0 victory, in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, over Stanway Rovers on Saturday.

It is now four games undefeated for Wanderers, with three consecutive clean sheets, and they made the ideal start against Rovers.

After only three minutes, Liam Jennings was on hand to give the home side the lead when he fired home from close range.

Danny Thrower increased the lead on 15 minutes when his angled drive deceived the visiting keeper.

A third goal came for Wanderers on 55 minutes following great work by Thrower as he set up Darius Laws with an easy close-range header.

Stanway saw plenty of the ball during the second half, but they couldn’t find the breakthrough against a stubborn Wanderers defence.

Elsewhere, Hadleigh United equalised with a last-minute penalty from Ben Elliott to earn a 2-2 draw against Fakenham.

The Brettsiders ground out a fourth, successive draw, coming from behind twice.

The visitors took the lead on 14 minutes when Ashley Jarvis scored from 12 yards out.

Hadleigh equalised on the hour when James Robson’s shot went in off the underside of the bar, from 20 yards,

After 80 minutes, Matthew Dye hit a great strike from distance to put Fakenham in the lead again, but Elliott made no mistake from the spot after Tom Driscoll had been fouled.

Walsham le Willows meanwhile, defeated in-form Newmarket Town 4-2 away from home, to ease their relegation fears.

In the Thurlow Nunn First Division, 10-man Framlingham Town fell to a 4-1 home defeat to Wisbech St Mary.

A brace each for Davey and Friend saw Wisbech secure the points in this replayed league game, as the visitors had played an ineligible player in the first meeting.

Fram had their goalkeeper sent off after 26 minutes, and that didn’t help The Castlemen, who scored a late consolation through Danny Smith.

Elsewhere, Stowmarket Town won 3-0 at Kings Lynn Town Reserves to open up a five-point gap at the top of the table.
