OLYMPIC hope Tom Daley clinched his second World Series silver medal within a week after a strong display alongside Peter Waterfield in the platform synchro event in Beijing today.

The 17-year-old added to his second place in the individual platform in Dubai last weekend to enhance his reputation ahead of the London Games this summer.

Daley and the experienced Waterfield have started to prove their world-class credentials, following an injury-interrupted start to the year and returned a score of 437.40 to take silver.

That was their best international score since they claimed gold nearly a year ago at the World Series meet in Sheffield.

Since then they have not been able to reach the podium in a global competition to cast some doubt over their Olympic hopes.
