Tompkins impresses in Two Counties win
THE Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Over-50s defeated the MSC Suffolk Alliance Over-50s by 25 runs in a 45 overs-a-side match at Frinton last Tuesday. Bruce Tompkins returned the impressive figures of 9-6-7-3.
Two Counties Over-50s 192 for 7 (P Patel 38no, J Wedge 37, E Dunkley 26, C Thomas 2 for 20, P Driver 3 for 47). MSC Suffolk Alliance Over-50s 167 for 7 (N Place 43no, J Driver 31, M Grubb 28no, B Tompkins 3 for 7, I Robinson 2 for 24, M Southwell 2 for 43). Two Counties won by 25 runs.
Billericay Veterans batted out for a boring draw at Elmstead Market.
They made no attempt to chase down their target posted by the Two Counties Over-60s despite receiving only four overs less. Six fours saw 24 runs of their reply come from the penultimate over!
