Here is our quick guide to events in towns and villages along the Tour de France route in Essex tomorrow.

Finchingfield:

There will be a range of stalls including The Fox pub refreshment court where visitors can order picnic baskets, while there is also a Priors Hall hog roast, barbecue, Saffron Walden ice cream, blackberry jacket crepes and smoothies

The village will also have a large 18m TV screen which is being transported straight from the British Grand Prix the day before.

Camping is available at Spains Hall Estate and car parking is available at both ends of the village.

Wethersfield:

Car-based refreshments are order of the day with a classic Citroen kiosk van and Charles Wells’ Brewers’ licensed bar from a double decker bus. A range of hot snacks will be available from a number of outlets and teas, coffee and home-made cakes can be enjoyed at various locations around the green.

As the time approaches for the race to pass through and the excitement builds street performers in the form of drummers will herald their arrival and celebrate their onward journey with a performance at Wethersfield Playing Field.

Essex Cultural Diversity Project will be co-ordinating various performances from India, Brazil and Africa on the route of the cycle race as it enters the village. A global stage will take place after the race at the Wethersfield Playing fields with performances by Braintree-based arts organisation Chakardar playing table, and Efua Sey Cultural academy based in Harlow with African dance and Music.

Also performing will be Namvula’s, fusing the energy and rhythms of folk and urban traditions from her Zambian homeland with London’s eclectic music scene.

Shalford:

Camping is available at the Recreation Ground and will be hosting a six-a-side cricket tournament and family fun day the weekend ahead of the race. Events on the day will be limited as the village is completely cut off through the road closure.

Rayne:

The main event is the Rayne music festival taking place at Old Rayne Station. The three-day event culminates on July 7.

The Braintree BMX club will also be at the village playing field doing demonstrations.

Felsted:

A large screen will show the whole of stage three. There will also be a range of activities and festivities including a barbecue.

Chelmsford:

Admirals Park hosts a big screen showing the whole of the stage throughout the day. There will also be a big cycling event taking place with a range of activities and live music.

Howe Street:

L’etape Village d’Essex (the Essex Stage Village) is being held at River Farm, Main Road. It includes exhibitions by cycling companies and manufacturers, demonstrations, food and drink.
