IPSWICH Town held promotion favourites Sheffield United in this Championship clash at Portman Road today.
They deserved their point, but hopes that the new year might spark a move up the table have been put on hold.
When Jimmy Juan struck with his fourth goal of the season with a splendidly taken 54th minute free-kick the signs looked good that Town could collect three points that would give their confidence a real boost.
The atmosphere was the best experienced at Portman Road this season as home fans really got behind their team, but when Danny Webber scored in the 77th minute it quietened things down.
Sheffield, second behind Reading in the table, had the best of the first period and a draw was a fair outcome.
