Town's 6-1 win over Burnley on Tuesday night has set a new record for the club.

It was the first time since the Blues became a league club in 1936 that they have been 5-0 up at half time in a league match.

Although some big thrashings have been handed out over the years – including a 6-0 win over Manchester United in 1980 and a 7-0 thrashing of West Bromwich Albion in 1976 – the goals were shared between the first and second halves.

Town were 6-0 up against Floriana at half time in the preliminary round of the European Cup in 1962, going on to win the match 10-0.
