SYLVAIN Legwinski is in line for a surprise return to action next week.

Legwinski has recovered from a broken foot and has been pencilled in to play a small part in Thursday's friendly at Kettering.

The Frenchman has been holidaying in Sweden after working intensively with fitness coach Simon Thadani to recover from his injury and will join the squad in their week-long training session at Loughborough University on Monday.

The Blues squad return to training this morning after a nine-day break as part of the new look pre-season preparations before gong to the world-class facility.

Only Dean Bowditch, who is making good progress after a groin operation and Gavin Williams who is recovering slowly but steadily, will miss the trip to the midlands that includes games against Burton Albion on Tuesday and Thursday.

Thadani said: “This is all about giving the players the chance to get even better. We will make use of the outstanding facilities but it will be about the mental approach to fitness and nutrition as the physical side. Experts in the field of dehydration and nutrition will give talks in what will be varied week.

“The players' attitude towards the new approach has been very good, certainly the difference has been noticeable and we have been impressed at how they have worked.

“This week will also give the coaches a chance to work on the footballing side with the players.”
