IPSWICH Town manager Joe Royle is hoping to bring in two new strikers in the next few days.

Nicky Forster has long been a Blues target, and negotiations are at an advanced stage for the 31-year-old, who is set to sign a two-year deal next week.

But Royle is also talking to another big-name striker and remains hopeful of completing another deal in the next week or so.

The Blues boss is likely to abandon his search for an experienced goalkeeper and instead start the new campaign with Lewis Price as first choice, with teenager Shane Supple on the bench.
