Bulgarian side Levski Sofia have been confirmed as Ipswich Town's opponents for the pre-season friendly at Portman Road on Friday, August 1.
Levski, who last season won the Bulgarian national Cup competition for the 24th time and have also won the national championship 22 times, have been dominant in Bulgarian club football in the last 10 years and are in the qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.
Town had hoped to play Spanish giants Athletic Bilbao in the friendly but the death of the club president and the departure of manager Jupp Heynckes to German club Schalke 04 forced them to pull out.
