THIS weekend's FA Cup Second Qualifying Round clash between Bury Town and Chelmsford City, kick-off 3pm at Ram Meadow, has been selected as one of the featured matches benefiting from highlights on an ITV website as part of their new rights package for the competition.
The City management team of Jeff King and Glenn Pennyfather bid to equal their Cup run of two years ago when the Clarets faced Aldershot Town in a replay in the First Round Proper. This time around, should a replay be necessary, it will be played at Melbourne on Monday 29th September, kick-off 7:30pm.
Elsewhere, in the Setanta Shield Second Round, Chelmsford been drawn at home to Braintree Town, a game that will be played on Monday 6th October 2008, again kicking-off at 7:30pm. The Blue Square South fixture at Thurrock, scheduled to be played on Boxing Day, has now also been pushed back a day to Saturday 27th December at 3:00pm.
In the F.A. Youth Cup this season, City's First Qualifying Round tie at Colney Heath will take place this coming Thursday, kick off 7:45 pm. The club would be delighted to see as many people attend as possible to cheer the Chelmsford youngsters on to success.
