Manager Joe Dunne after Sanchez Watt’s red card at Swindon: “I’m not going to defend Sanchez. It was a red card offence, and the referee was absolutely right.”

Keeper Sam Walker after the 2-1 home defeat by Tranmere on April 5: “I just can’t really believe how we lost this game.”

Striker Jabo Ibehre, after the 4-1 home win over Brentford on April 26, which kept the U’s up: “I’m pleased for the manager (Dunne), who has put so much into the team.”

Karl Duguid, on his last ever U’s appearance, a 1-0 win at Walsall on May 5, which was his only game of the season: “I’ve just told the gaffer that we’ve not lost a game this season, when I’ve played!”
