COLCHESTER'S first-ever home Championship game ended in a 1-0 defeat to Plymouth, but the U's put up a stirring show at Layer Road.
Richard Garcia hit the bar early on, and Jamie Cureton then saw his header saved. Luke Summerfield then scored a stunning goal to put the visitors ahead, and Cureton wasted the best chance to equalise with nine minutes left when he dwelt on the ball too long rather than shooting.
