U's beaten by Barnsley revival

BARNSLEY came from behind to win at Layer Road this afternoon and deny Colchester United their first-ever Championship victory.The U's had led through a first-half header from Greg Halford, but their visitors equalised in the second half through Marc Richards and began to dominate the match, eventually sealing the three points when Brian Howard scored from 30 yards out with 12 minutes left.

The result leaves the U's with no points from their first three games this season.
