COLCHESTER United boss Geraint Williams has not given up hope in signing Luton Town skipper Chris Coyne, writes Carl Marston.
The U's had a reported £300,000 bid turned down last week, but Williams is still hopeful of luring the Australian to Layer Road after watching his side crash out of the FA Cup at the hands of Peterborough United on Saturday.
The Welshman's need to strengthen his squad was clear for all to see after League Two visitors Posh coasted to a 3-1 win.

“We are still attempting to sign Chris Coyne,” confirmed Williams.
“I'm trying to sign new players, but so are all clubs from all the divisions. It's all condensed into this one month, and we have to attract the players to this club, although our league position (second-from-bottom) is not helping.”
