COLCHESTER United boss Geraint Williams is hoping to plot the downfall of his former club Derby County tonight, under the glare of the Sky Sports TV cameras.

Williams played more than 300 games for the Rams as a combative midfielder, before later moves to Ipswich and then Colchester.

Derby will regain top spot in the Championship, with a win this evening, but Williams has no time for sentiment and will be out to stop his former team.

“I always enjoy my visits to Derby, though it's 14 years since I last played for them!” revealed Williams.

“It's a long, long time ago, and of course they have since moved to a new ground (Pride Park).

“The lads are looking forward to playing in front of the Sky cameras. We enjoyed the experience against Ipswich (1-0 win).

“Our last two away games have been a complete contrast, with a 3-0 win at Barnsley followed by a 3-0 defeat at Plymouth. The truth is that we haven't picked up enough points away from home this season, and we are still searching for that magic formula,” added Williams.

The 45-year-old was a regular in Derby's midfield between 1985 and 1992, when the Rams were operating at the Baseball Ground. This will be the U's first-ever visit to Pride Park.
