COLCHESTER United skipper Karl Duguid has had a steroid injection in his injured knee, and is planning to rest during the first half of this week. The U's longest serving player missed the 2-1 victory at Southampton last Friday week, after injuring the knee in the previous 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

Manager Geraint Williams revealed yesterday: “Karl (Duguid) is resting at the moment, but we are hoping that he will be available for this weekend's game against Norwich. Kevin (McLeod) has started running again, but this weekend might come too soon for him.”

Left-winger McLeod underwent a minor hernia operation last week, while centre-half Matthew Mills returned to Manchester City after his two-month loan stint. Mills made nine appearances for the U's.

Meanwhile, tickets are selling fast for the visit of Norwich on Saturday. The Family Enclosure and Barside have already sold out.
