John McGreal is backing his U’s to prove their promotion credentials in a New Year’s Day trip to Crawley Town.
The League Two contenders dropped five points from two home games over the festive period but McGreal is confident of a response from Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate against Morecambe.
“We are still in it,” insisted McGreal.
“There were a lot draws (at the weekend), for the likes of Bury, Mansfield and MK Dons, so we are still fourth and level on points with Mansfield in third.

“We dominated the game, territory-wise, but we just needed that bit of luck at the end.
