Walsham to host young Ipswich side

It will be the first time the Ridgeons League Premier Division side has faced a professional team as Walsham look to step up their pre-season before the campaign starts on August 13.

They beat Ipswich Wanderers 4-2 on Tuesday night and will be looking for a similar performance against an Ipswich side, managed by club legend Russell Osman.

The Town squad is: Conor O’Donnell, Callum Bennett, Aaron Jones, Jide Maduako, Nic Schroder, Elliott Scotcher, Carel Tiofack, Lewis Acott, Jonathan Leddy, Shaun Meikle, David October, Jack Simmons, Gunnar Thorsteinnsson, Mark Timlin, Tom Winter, Aaron Ryan, Conor Eynon.

Meanwhile, Town striker Tamas Priskin has been named in the Hungarian squad for their home friendly against Iceland on August 10.

The call-up means the forward will miss Ipswich’s Carling Cup match at home to Northampton, along with defender Damien Delaney who has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad against Croatia.
