EXTROVERT manager Trevor Wardlaw is working his magic at Claydon, with the bottom-placed Metaltec SIL First Division club beating leaders Wickham Market 1-0 at the weekend.
Wardlaw's managerial methods are unique, but they have worked at his previous clubs that include Stowmarket Town, Old Newton, East Bergholt and Debenham Leisure Centre. A recent coach trip to a game at Mendlesham arrived 'home' after midnight.
Wickham's defeat enabled Colin Macrow's Suffolk Junior Cup finalists Old Newton zoom from fourth to the top with a 9-0 win over Willis.
Senior Division leaders Grundisburgh lost only their second league match of the season, beaten 4-1 at Ransomes Sports.
