Hadleigh United have this morning named Shane Wardley as their new boss.

The Brettsiders have been looking for a new manager since Stuart Alston stepped down to take up a different role at the Thurlow Nunn Premier outfit earlier this month.

Wardley, a former boss at Ipswich Wanderers, was a well-known and respected player on the local scene and will be looking to bring the good times back to Hadleigh, who have struggled of late.

United chairman Rold Beggerow said: “Shane brings to the club a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game both as a player and more recently as a manager in the Thurlow Nunn Premier League.

“He will be assisted by Ian Cornforth, who was also Shane’s assistant and coach during his time at Ipswich Wanderers.

“Acting manager Andrew Crisp will remain in charge of the first team for Saturday’s match against Kirkely and Pakefield and Andy will remain fully involved with the new management team in the coming weeks.”
