Eastern Counties 1 - Harwich & Dovercourt 25 Woodbridge Warriors 3

WOODBRIDGE were under pressure from the start in bright Harwich sunshine as Bruce was forced to make a try-saving tackle on Francis, the rampaging Harwich centre.

Relief was short-lived however as Francis recycled the clearance kick to put Edgar over with assistance from full back Male.

Early pressure on the Warriors’ full-back Lloyd yielded a handful of knock-ons and helped Harwich stay on top.

After escaping a very close attempt by Edgar, Harwich’s forwards and backs combined down the centre of the pitch to put Falevino over for a try.

Play stayed in the hosts’ half as they absorbed some sustained pressure in their 22 on their right flank.

Harwich relied on their bulletproof rucking to repeatedly get themselves out of jail and eventually, against the run of play, Male took three points from a Woodbridge infringement.

Harwich had to be happy with one more try, Edgar’s second, converted by Male, to finish as they had started.
