Match highlights of Ipswich Town’s 1-0 away victory at Preston North End in the Championship.

Mustapha Carayol’s goal on his full Ipswich debut was the difference as the Blues shut up shop in the second half to leave Deepdale with a 1-0 victory.

The winger tucked the ball into the back of the Preston net on 22 minutes, capping a first half in which he worried the Preston defence whenever he got the ball, to the extent home manager Alex Neil hauled off right back Calum Woods just after the half hour.

He could easily have opened his account prior to that, though, after cutting inside and seeing a shot superbly saved by Declan Rudd before poking the rebound wide.

But the winger, who had suffered with sickness and diarrhoea in the lead up to the game, was replaced at the break, after which what had been an entertaining Blues display disintegrated into a fractured, battling one as they saw the game out and secured the points.
