Suffolk tennis fans can watch some of the county’s best players compete fresh from their “extraordinary achievements” in a national tournament.
The 124th Annual Framlingham Lawn Tennis Tournament and Suffolk Championships got underway on Monday, with competitions for all ages.
Among the competitors will be the Suffolk men’s team, which recently enjoyed great success in the national top division, finishing third of 44 counties taking part.
Tournament chairman James Lightfoot said: “This is a chance to see the best Suffolk players fresh from achieving something quite extraordinary.”
Matches are taking place at Framlingham College’s extensive collection of courts until Saturday, with the men’s finals held on Thursday.
Several past stars have gone on to compete at Wimbledon, including Christine Janes (nee Truman), who is the president of the tournament.
Spectators are welcome.
