Colchester United defender, Alex Wynter, who signed a new contract earlier this week, has revealed that he was surprised to learn of manager Kevin Keen’s sudden departure on Tuesday.
Keen left the Essex club, just three days after the U’s relegation to League Two was confirmed, with his assistant David Wright taking over on a caretaker basis for the last two games of the campaign.
“It’s always a shock when a manager leaves. We didn’t see it coming ourselves,” admitted Wynter, after today’s training session at Florence Park, Tiptree.
“But as professionals we’ve got a job to do. We can’t affect what goes on above us.
“It’s part-and-parcel of football. I’ve had many managers, so it’s just another chapter now,” added Wynter.
