Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino gave “respect” to his opponents following today’s 4-1 win at Colcheter United in the FA Cup.

“I picked a strong team, because you have to show respect for your opponents,” explained Pochettino at the post-match press conference at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

“I’m pleased with all our aspects of our play today, and I’m delighted we are into the next round.

“A lot of things happened in the first 15 minutes, and I wish all the best to (injured) defenders Alex Wynter and Tom Eastman.

“I have a strong squad and I thought it was important to show Colchester some respect.

“We created a lot of chances,” added Pochettino.

Goals from Nacer Chadli (2), Erik Dier and Tom Carroll secured a comfortable win for Spurs, witht the U’s netting via an own goal from Ben Davies.
