JAMIE Godbold has revealed that Lowestoft Town will be far better prepared for their FA Vase semi-final match at Whitley Bay today following their forgettable experience in the north east at the same stage of the competition last year.
The north Suffolk club just about scraped through against the same opposition last year, a nervy 3-0 defeat at Hillheads following a 4-0 first leg win at Crown Meadow.
But Trawler Boys stalwart and talisman Godbold says that the club has learnt their lessons from that tie. The 28-year-old said: “It was backs against the wall stuff and we showed a lot of character for the last hour of the game against a big crowd and an intimidating side who were really up for the game.
“We learnt a lot from that experience and will be much better prepared this time around.”
