Gianfranco Zola has moved for the highly-rated 29-year-old Spartak Moscow player after hearing Scottish champions Celtic have expressed an interest.
Kovac, who can also play at centre-back, is also interesting Bundesliga side Hannover and Italian outfit Udinese.
