The nights are drawing in but sport waits for no man (except perhaps a late-running referee) so there is still plenty of action for you to get your teeth into in Suffolk for less than £20.

So if you’re looking for some football away from the top divisions or looking to try watching something new like greyhound racing, see if anything takes your fancy from the list below.

Football: Ipswich Wanderers v Newmarket Town

A little Suffolk derby to kick things off this week with west travelling east on Saturday.

Eight points separate 12th-placed Wanderers from third-placed Newmarket so it could be an exciting clash. Both sides have fairly similar recent league form as well.

However it is not the first time these sides have come up against each other this season.

The hosts will be wanting some revenge after Newmarket beat them 3-2 in a Tuesday night cup fixture last month.

Venue: SEH Sports Ground, Humber Doucy Lane, Ipswich, IP4 3NR. Tickets: Adult £6, Concession £4, under 12 free. Date: 3pm, November 19.

Rugby Union: Ipswich v Cantabrigians

This is a clash between fourth bottom and fourth top (the hosts and visitors respectively) in English rugby’s London 2 North East division.

Ipswich last won on October 8 and have played three times since then – but always against sides above them in the table.

Current league leaders Old Cooperians were amongst the opposing teams in that run with only three points separating the sides on that occasion, so Ipswich will doubtless fancy their chances of recording a victory.

This game is also the last of a trio of home fixtures for Ipswich so a win would be very welcome before travelling to Woodford next weekend.

Venue: Humber Doucey Lane, Ipswich, IP4 3PZ. Tickets: Free. Date: 3pm, November 19.

Motorsport: Foxhall Stadium

It is the last weekend of action of a season at Foxhall on Saturday with banger racing rounding off the calendar for 2016.

The Whip Street Motors Banger Championship of the World is described as on of Foxhalls “jewels in its illustrious crown” on the circuit’s website and with around 270 vehicles set to be in action on the night it will certainly be a packed evening of racing.

Venue: Foxhall Stadium, Foxhall Road, Ipswich, IP4 5TL. Tickets: Adult £16, 65 years and over £12, five to 14-years-old £7, family (two adults, three children) £43. Date: 5pm, November 19.

Greyhound racing: Mildenhall Stadium

Friday evening is essentially the weekend, hence why this listing as just snuck in this week.

Tonight sees 11 races over the course of the meet with entry prices for those of age including a race card.

Along with the sporting action, which includes dogs by the names of Wachovia Polaris, Dan the Barber and Bish Bash Bosh, the Raceview Restaurant will also be open for food with some deals including admission also available.

Venue: Mildenhall Stadium, Haylands Grove, West Row, Mildenhall, IP28 8QU. Tickets: Adult £5, OAP £4, under 16 free. Date: 7.30pm, November 18.
