AFTER their excellent FA Cup victory over Lowestoft Town last Saturday, Needham Market are back to Ridgeons League action tomorrow when Soham Town Rangers are the visitors to Bloomfields.

Soham have also had a good start to the season collecting seven points from a possible nine. And they came back from two goals down to win their FA Cup tie 5-2 against St Neots Town.

Needham manager Danny Laws has been encouraged by his side's start to the season.

He said: “I am very pleased with our results to date. It would have been nice to have played a fixture in midweek but cup replays thwarted that.

“However, it's given us a chance to get two good training sessions in and work on certain areas of our game.”

With both sides unbeaten, Laws is looking forward to a well-contested match, adding: “Soham are always a difficult team to beat and we will have to be at our best to get a result.”

Walsham-le-Willows have made a good start to life in the Premier Division and travel to Harwich, while Jason Dozzell's Leiston visit a Newmarket side that have just parted company with former Cambridge United boss John Taylor.

In the First Division, Stowmarket Town are at home to Saffron Walden with manager Dave Hubbick having signed left-back Matty Ryland from Leiston.

Ryland is expected to make his debut tomorrow, while Hadleigh United will be seeking their first win of the season when Ely City, who just missed out on promotion last season, visit Millfield.

Hadleigh have parted company with two long-serving stalwarts with Simon Merrick and Jon Chinnery moving to Capel Plough in a bid for regular first team football.

In the Senior Division of the Metaltec SIL, promoter BT Trimley visit Plough. Last season's top scorer, Stuart Broad returns, along with central defender Grant Abbitt, but Matthew Wallace and Chris Rogowski join Paul Tooke and Adam Percy on the unavailable list.

Matthew Coleman, who impressed on his first team debut last week, is set to make another start.

Despite losing 4-0 to Crane Sports manager Richard Page was impressed with the overall performance.

He said: “At 1-0 down we had the majority of possession without making it pay. Two errors in the second half killed the game.”

Melton St Audry's new signing - Gavin Vince from Achilles - goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's game at Ipswich Athletic.

Manager Simon Fryatt has a poser on his hands over who will drop out with Julian Beaumont and Marc Wilson both netting hat-tricks last week.

The following SIL teams are playing at different venues this season: BT Trimley reserves (at Walton Recreation Ground), East Bergholt A (Chelmondiston Playing Field), Felixstowe United (Trimley Sports & Social Club), Ipswich Postals (YMCA Rugby Club) and Woodbridge Athletic (RAF Woodbridge).
