IPSWICH Evening Star Witches will have to try again tonight to get their opening meeting of the season on, against local rivals King's Lynn Stars.
After thrashing the north Norfolk side at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday, the Witches were all set to make their 2008 start in front of their own fans last night.
But drizzly rain in Suffolk from 4pm onwards put paid to those hopes and the meeting was called off at 6.30pm, with rain still falling.
However Foxhall fans won't have to wait too long to welcome their stars back on track, with a quick decision to call off, coming ahead of an even quicker one to re-stage the meeting tonight, with a 7.30pm start.
All the Witches are available once more, while Lynn guest Jason Crump is hoping to re-arrange some testing practice in order to race against the Witches.
But if he cannot do so, Lynn are sure to find a top Elite League guest at this stage of the season, with Scott Nicholls likely to be top of Jonathan Chapman's wish list, should Crump not make it.
Tonight's teams
Ipswich: R Miskowiak, P Swiderski, C Louis, S Johnston, J Hampel, T Kroner, C Schramm.
King's Lynn: J Crump or guest, S Tacey, T Topinka, R Harrison, K Doolan, J Oliver, K Smith.
